STUBE-BW provides support for a career-oriented internship or a study visit (BPSA). The BPSA programme bears the travel expenses for a study visit or an internship in the home or in a neighbouring country.

The Association for Canadian Studies in German-Speaking Countries (GKS) and the Foundation for Canadian Studies (SKS) award a number of different awards and scholarships to students and early career researchers every year.
Scholarships for exchange programs in Asia
The Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) offers scholarships for qualified international students who have been accepted at a Japanese university, higher education institution, technical university, technical college, junior college, or vocational school as an exchange student for a duration of between 8 days and one year.
- Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS): Short and long-term stays for doctoral students, postdocs, and researchers
- Canon Foundation in Europe: Scholarships for a stay in Japan for doctoral students and master’s degree graduates
- DAAD: JSPS research scholarships for a short stay in Japan for doctoral students and postdocs
- Alexander von Humboldt Foundation: JSPS research scholarships for postdocs, for a stay in Japan of at least 6 months (application possible at any time)
The Taiwanese Ministry of Education awards two scholarships to German citizens in Germany.
- The Huayu Enrichment Scholarship is for language acquisition and is awarded for either 6 or 12 months.
- A scholarship in the Taiwan Scholarship Program is awarded for a complete course of study with a degree (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD).
The DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) conducts the application and selection process for both scholarship programs and accepts your applications for the academic year 2025/26 until the end of September (presumably until 26.09.). The application portal opens approx. 6 weeks in advance.

Fully-funded Science & Engineering Scholarship Program (SESP) at Hanyang University ERICA, Korea
Hanyang University ERICA in South Korea offers a Science & Engineering Scholarship Program (SESP) for international students. This prestigious program is designed for undergraduate students in their 3rd and 4th years, providing a pathway to pursue combined Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in various fields of science and engineering.

Scholarships for exchange programs in Europe
The Studienstiftung endeavors to enable all students supported by the foundation to study abroad. To this end, it offers a large number of publicly and privately funded scholarships to support one-semester, one-year, and two-year projects, or even short stays.
Since 2001, the “Carlo Schmid Program for Internships at International Organizations and EU Institutions” has been offering highly qualified students and graduates the opportunity for an internship to get to know the working methods in the field of international administration.
The scholarship program “Metropolises in Eastern Europe“, which was launched in 2004, is aimed at cosmopolitan German students who wish to study in one of these countries or realize a scientific project. Applications are open to students of all disciplines up to the master’s degree, diploma degree, or state examination who can demonstrate very good academic performance. As a rule, the support is for a one-year stay abroad.
Scholarships for a stay in France
The DFJW wants to improve the mobility of students and early career researchers in a Franco-German and international context. The scholarships are therefore aimed at all young people who undergo a training program, without giving preference to specific disciplines. The DFJW is working together both with universities that organize exchange programs and with students who are independently doing an internship or research project in the partner country.
Every semester, the GFPS partner associations in Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic award scholarships to students and doctoral candidates for a study visit or a one-semester language course. Polish, Czech, and also Belarusian students can apply for a stay in Germany, Germans can apply for a semester in Poland or the Czech Republic.
