• Welcome speech by the Dean of Studies (Prof. Niewa), Introduction to the Study Program by the Program Manager (Dr. Schulz)
• Introduction of the Chemistry Student Group, Introduction on How to use C@mpus and Ilias
• Get-together lunch with the Chemistry Student Group

The introductory lecture takes place in attendance on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at lecture hall V 47.04 (Pfaffenwaldring 47) and additionally online via webex.

A recording of the lecture will be available afterwards.

On October 6, 2025, there will be a welcoming event at 4:00 p.m. in Pfaffenwaldring 9, room 2.253.

To help you choose your specialization subjects at the beginning of your studies, presentations of the available specializations will take place on October 9, 2025 and October 10, 2025.

In the afternoon of October 10, 2025, there will be lab tours at three different institutes. Meeting point is at 1:20 .p.m. in front of PWR 9 (the entry when coming straight up from the S-Bahn).

On October 10, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. there is a get together in PWR9, room 5.253, where first semester students can meet students from higher semesters and lecturers.

Introductory event of the department: Friday, 09th October 2026, 10:00 a.m. - online.

The Introductory Lecture for new INFOTECH Students will be held on October 6th, 2026 from 10:00am - 11:00am (onsite at the university, PWR 47.03).

Information on Starting the Master's Program in Materials Science – Winter Semester 2026/2027

To ensure a smooth start to your Master's studies in Materials Science, we offer a range of informational events both before the official start of the semester and during the introductory phase.

The lecture period for the winter semester 2026/2027 will begin on October 5, 2026.

Comprehensive online introduction sessions will be offered on the following dates (Participation is strongly recommended):
