Note for the enrollment process winter semester 2022/23:
You enroll online via the campus management system C@MPUS. Please send any documents that can’t be uploaded to C@MPUS by post to the Application, Admission, Enrollment Department.
Foreigners and EU nationals without German high school certificate: Please send any documents that cannot be uploaded in C@MPUS by post. If this is not possible, in exceptional cases the documents can be submitted as a scan (PDF) via the contact form (please specify "enrollment" as the subject in the contact form). In this case, you must then submit the required certified copies immediately after arriving.
For both cases: please read the information on health insurance.

The department Application, Admission, Enrollment (e-mail and postal address)

Once you have succeeded in being admitted to study, the next step is to enroll. You enroll online via the Campus Management System C@MPUS where you have to fill in your missing data and then submit your application for enrollment. Until you complete the enrollment process you are not yet officially signed up as a student at the University of Stuttgart.

Make sure to complete your enrollment by the deadline stated in your letter of acceptance!

The enrollment process will be completed when we have received your application - together with the required documents - within the specified timeframe, and once we have received notification of your health insurance, and you have paid your fees. You will be able to download your Certificate of Enrollment from your student account on C@MPUS. You will receive your student ID card by post as soon as you have entered a German address in C@MPUS.

If you have additional questions, be sure to check our enrollment FAQs (below) for answers.

Information on enrollment

Sign on to the Campus Management System C@MPUS. After having accepted your study place, please continue as follows:

A detailed step-by-step pdf-format enrollment guide is also available for download here: How To C@MPUS - Enrollment Process.

The enrollment countdown begins from the date of your acceptance and ends on the date indicated in your Letter of Acceptance. Please be sure to observe the following:

  • We must have received the application for enrollment with the required documentation by the deadline stated in your Letter of Acceptance (the date of receipt by the Application, Admission, Enrollment Department is decisive, not the postmarked date).
  • If we do not receive the application for enrollment by the stated deadline, the Letter of Acceptance will be void. The study place will be allotted to the next-highest ranked applicant. You must inform the Application, Admission, Enrollment Department if for some important reason you think you will miss the deadline so that we can assign you an alternate date. This will only in justified exceptional cases be possible and only before the start of classes!
  • You can have a third party complete the enrollment process on your behalf with your written authorization.
  • Enrollment deadlines as stipulated in the Letters of Acceptance for Master’s programs must also be observed. In most cases, the deadlines will be May 15 for the spring semester and November 15 for the fall semester.

Every public sector entity that has an official seal, such as public authorities, is allowed to produce an authorized certification. Certifications from lawyers, associations, banks, health insurance fund, or similar institutions will not be accepted.

An official certification has to include:

1) A certification code which attests that the copy matches the original document.
2) The signature of the attestor
3) An imprint of the official seal  (Official seals usually contain an emblem, a simple writing seal wil not be accepted.)

Additional rules:

  • If the copy consists of several single sheets, it needs to be attested that all sheets belong to the same document. It is sufficient to sign and place the certification code on only one sheet if all sheets are put on top of each other, stapled, and sealed in a way that every sheet contains a part of the official seal.
  • Every single sheet may also be authorized individually. In that case please pay attention that every sheet of the original document contains your name. If not, your name has to be included in the certification code together with an indication of the type of document.
  • If the front and back of a sheet contain a copy with relevant content, the certification code has to refer to both front and back. If not, front and back of the sheet have to be authorized individually.
  • If the original document contains a seal minted in paper this is usually not visible in the copy. In that case the certification code needs to be expanded and refer to the minted seal in the original document.
