Come to the International Office upon arrival in Stuttgart. We will help you to settle in and get started!

Due to the Coronavirus, our orientation program will be offered online. 

The International Office offers an orientation program for degree seeking students and exchange students. During this program we organize special information meetings that will help you settle in and feel comfortable. 

Degree-seeking students

International degree students who would like to get some information and tips for preparing  their stay at the University of Stuttgart can take part in the Pre-departure information web seminar (event in English).

What is to consider when planning your stay in Stuttgart? Please check:

The welcome package contains our Welcome Guide and Welcome Checklist as printed brochures, a city map, information leaflets and forms you need to fill in during the first days.

You may pick up a welcome package for the winter semester starting Wednesday, August 31 during our regular on site office hours.

You want another date for pickup? Just write us an email and tell us your course of study, country of origin and when you will arrive in Stuttgart or feel free to call us: Tel. 0711/ 685-68566 (Mon-Thu 09.00-15.30, Fri 09.00-12.00).

If you need help with the paperwork feel free to join this small group meeting where we discuss the formalities in the beginning of your stay in Stuttgart. Grab your Welcome Checklist and come along!

Every Friday at 10 a.m. (CET) starting September 16, 2022 until the end of October (online and in English).

Health care system, housing rules, getting around safely, sorting your garbage. Living in Stuttgart will be different to what you are used to. Join this online seminar and help yourself to a smooth start in everyday life!

Organizing your studies is a major challenge for your first semester. Students in our English taught Master´s programs will receive the handout Studying in Stuttgart for newbies, that gives an insights in the basics of academic life in Stuttgart, through their study program.

Tuesday, October 11 at 10 a.m. (CET) (event in English).Our English taught Master´s programs are in focus of this online seminar.

Exchange students

For exchange and program students who participate in the intensive German course in September or March the orientation program takes place during the language course.
Exchange students who do not participate in the intensive German course and arrive in October or April receive all information via e-mail.
