Come to the International Office upon arrival in Stuttgart. We will help you to settle in and get started!

Due to the corona virus, our orientation program will be offered online. 

The International Office offers an orientation program for degree seeking students in April and October. During this program we organize special information meetings that will help you settle in and feel comfortable.

What is to consider when planning your stay in Stuttgart? Ideally, you should participate in this online seminar few months or at least a few weeks before planned arrival.

Newly arrived students who prefer a printed version about the first steps in Stuttgart can collect a Welcome Package in front of the IZ (you will find all important information as well on our homepage). The Welcome Package includes for example a campus map as well as a city map of Stuttgart and our Welcome Checklist (explaining all formalities to be done after your arrival). If you would like to collect a Welcome Package, send an e-mail (please mention your study course and home country). You will get an appointment for collecting the Welcome Package in front of the IZ.

In this small group meeting we discuss the formalities in the beginning of your stay in Stuttgart. Grab your Welcome Checklist and join us! We offer our Guidance on Formalities on a weekly basis. In order to receive the link, you have to register in advance. 

Organizing your studies is a major challenge for your first semester. This online seminar gives you insight in the basics of academic life in Stuttgart. It is designed to give a framework for the information your study program will give you.

Our English taught Master´s program are in focus of this online seminar.

The next session will be on Friday, April 16 at 2 p.m. Please register in advance. 

What you have to bear in mind and think about when living in a student dorm by the Studierendenwerk. The Link will be sent automatically to all tenants by the Studierendenwerk.

The session will be held on Wednesday, April 14 at 2.30 p.m.

This online seminar is mainly designed for degree students in our German taught study programs. Students of all study programs are welcome but you will need advanced German command (C1) to follow. Our next session will be held on Thursday, April 15 at 2 p.m. Please register in advance. Please find further information on the German homepage. 

Throughout the year we offer get-togethers and leisure time activities.

Exchange students

For exchange students, who participate in the intensive German course in September or March, the orientation program takes place during the language course.
Exchange students who do not participate in the intensive German course and arrive in October or April receive all information via e-mail.
