The examination committee is responsible for the interpretation of the exam regulations. The responsibilities of the Heads of the Examination Committee include:
- Preparing and conducting examinations
- Giving legally binding information on the recognition of examinations or course credits
- Deciding on the extension of a deadline
- Deciding on the withdrawal from an examination
- Deciding on academic accommodation (in German: Nachteilsausgleich)
- In some cases, extending the deadline of an examination period
