The lecture series "AI for engineers" presents methods of AI to solve current problems in science and economy in an innovative way by using AI. The lecture series presents the different perspectives of ten lecturers on the field.

On Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023 at 3:45 p.m., Benedikt Sonnleitner,Fraunhofer IIS, Nürnberg, will speak on the topic of "Time Series Forecasting Basics".

Stock prices, turnover, weather - all these are time series and we need a forecast for them if we want to make decisions today for the future. In the course of this lecture, I will review basic time series forecasting considerations and describe how AI is changing this field. I will also address other research approaches that currently look promising. In addition, the audience will learn how to assess forecast quality and the limitations of modern methods.

New lecture series "AI for engineers" in the framework of the project IKILeUS (HLRS / IHR). Valid as interdisciplinary key qualification FüSQ and in the thematic field module T9 Engineering Sciences but also for interested non-specialists.
