The General Assembly of the United Nations formerly acknowledged the human right to water in 2010, which raises the question of what this means in practice. How can access to clean water be ensured when resources are so scarce? Which conflicting sustainability issues must be taken into consideration? Which examples of water usage in private households need to the protected? This lecture examines the question of how water management institutions can be organized to ensure that the right to water is fulfilled.
