University and teaching operations in the winter semester 2021/22

The University of Stuttgart's opening strategy

Before the exam period and the summer break, the university management would like to inform you about the progression of plans for opening the university in the winter semester 2021/22. It is our firm intention to ensure that university operations and on-site teaching can take place in Stuttgart in the coming winter semester, and to offer as many courses on campus as possible. We are of course monitoring the pandemic situation and are preparing to respond flexibly to the respective incidence figures - as stipulated by the Corona Guidelines University Operations. For this reason, on-site, hybrid and online courses may take place. It is intended that university life will return to the university campus, at least to a large extent, and will no longer take place at home in front of the computer.

We guarantee that students will not be subject to continuous online teaching during the coming winter semester, and we recommend that students prepare to attend on-site courses in Stuttgart.

The final decision about exactly how university and teaching operations might be organized in the winter semester 2021/22 will be made by the Rectorate at the University of Stuttgart by mid-September at the latest. We will inform you of this as soon as possible. Please check the university's Corona webpage regularly.

In accordance with the current Corona Guidelines University Operations from the Ministry of Science Baden-Württemberg, applicable since July 1, students should be aware that a return to on-site teaching in the coming winter semester will only be possible for students who have been vaccinated, have recovered from the corona virus, or who have been tested. Therefore, we are asking you to please ensure that you have been vaccinated. By doing this you protect not only yourself but also those around you, and you are also helping to ensure a return to normal university operations.

We will do everything in our power to ensure that we can teach and learn together on campus.
