Students wanted for the project study "Frugal Innovation"

August 16, 2021

In the winter semester 2021/22, all students are invited to participate in this project study, implemented by the Department of Innovation and Service Management at the Institute of Business Administration.

Frugal innovation logic aims to reduce the use of financial and material resources in the development of new products and services. To enable this, the scope of services offered by innovations is limited and specifically adapted to optimally suit the primary needs of the target group. In view of current sustainability and environmental protection considerations, the economical use of resources makes frugal innovations an interesting alternative that differs from previous industrial logic.

Project idea and objective

As part of the project, students will be asked to identify regional companies that align with the concept of frugal innovation and to describe a selected company's business idea as a success story. This can be done either alone or in small groups. The kick-off event at the beginning of the winter semester will provide an opportunity to divide participants into groups and to introduce the topic. The entire project should take no longer than 6 to 8 weeks.

Prerequisites for participation

All members of the University of Stuttgart are welcome to participate. It is not necessary to have passed a module exam at the Department of Innovation and Service Management in order to participate.
