Contact points on the subject of study organization

  • The Office for Application, Admission, and Enrollment is your point of contact when the issue at hand requires insight into your C@MPUS student account, such as explanations and guidance regarding entries in the C@MPUS portal.
  • Please note that the International Office does NOT have access to your C@MPUS data.
  • Responsible for collecting the fees and handling applications for exceptions

  • Responsible for exam registration and withdrawal (e.g. due to illness), transcripts of records, and information on general exam regulations

  • Each study program has its own staff that can help you with course organization, scheduling problems and other study program-related issues. The contact person might be called study program manager, course director or academic advisor. Some study programs also have a separate course office or secretary.
  • The study deans and heads of examination boards have an important role in setting up rules, regulations, and deciding about exceptions. We recommend always contacting your study program manager first!

  • Some faculties have their own International Service Points. These provide services similar to the International Office but specifically for the students of that particular faculties. The services and offers vary, so have a look!

Challenges beyond studying

The International Office provides support if you

  • need a (new) residence permit and have questions or problems;
  • are unsure whether a job offer is compatible with your residence permit;
  • have received a letter from a German authority and need clarification;
  • need to contact a German authority but do not know which one or how.

Together we will discuss your situation, explore options, and plan your next steps.
We especially encourage you to contact us if you are in any kind of trouble. Our counseling is confidential by law. We will take no action unless you wish to.

The International Office provides support in difficult life situations such as when

  • health issues are making it difficult for you to study;
  • you are looking for a suitable health-related service;
  • you experience a lot of distress and mental load;
  • there are conflicts in your dormitory, partnership or family;
  • you feel lonely and lack social contacts;
  • you wonder who could help you.

Together we will discuss your situation, explore options, and plan your next steps. The counseling is confidential by law!

Are your studies not going quite as planned? Don't keep problems to yourself!

Common problems related to studying include academic issues (e.g. failed exams), the need for additional semesters, the need for a leave of absence and doubts about the study program.
The International Office supports you by

  • clarifying any questions related to your residence permit;
  • informing you about your rights and responsibilities;
  • informing you about support services and contact persons;
  • if needed, assisting in communication with other university officials;
  • supporting you in any case of non-academic problems affecting your studies.

Students may face or perceive different forms of discrimination during the course of their studies. Whether on campus or in the city – it is not always easy to claim your rights. Remember that you are not alone! Reach out to the International Office or one of the following points of contact. We want the University of Stuttgart to be a safe space for everybody!
