The app offers students a variety of functions intended to make university life easier:

UniNow is an external provider that has entered into a cooperation with the University of Stuttgart. By using the app, you enter a free contract with the service provider. Alternatively, you can also access all of the content via the uni homepage.

No, the app is simply an offer for students. All information and news can also be found on the university websites. You can still access ILIAS, C@mpus and all other systems directly via a web browser if you prefer.
No. When you install the app, it will ask you to create a UniNow user account. Please note that by doing so you would create an account with UniNow - if you decide to create a UniNow user account, do not use your university account data to do this! Also, you don't need to create an account to use the app. You can simply click on "later" and then log in to ILIAS and Co. directly using the menu. A UniNow user account is only required if you want to use the app on multiple devices and sync the content.
UniNow GmbH is responsible for processing personal data. You can find the privacy policy in the app under "Settings" (Uni logo) and "data protection". Here, you also have the option to object to block personalized recommendations and advertising.
Key aspects of the privacy policy:
- IV 1. "The user's authentication data, which is required to log into the university network, will not be processed or stored on the servers of the responsible party at any time. The user's authentication data is sent to the university network directly from the user's terminal device in order to retrieve the data from the university network. […]“
- IV 4 „[…] The user's data retrieved from the university network will be deleted from the controller's server immediately after processing."
To turn this function off, go to “settings” (Uni-Logo) and “notifications”.
No, the career feed is an offer from UniNow. The university's official career portal is Stellenwerk.
Since passwords are now only stored on the user's terminal device (e.g. your smartphone), the use of the UniNow app no longer violates the IuK terms of use.
