How might digital tools support the improvement of urban space, reduce traffic and mitigate hazards? Using Marienplatz in Stuttgart as an example, this workshop will present and discuss innovative methods and tools - from machine learning (AI), to supercomputing, simulation, the integration of sensor networks, scenario development, to visualization in virtual and augmented reality (VR and AR).

Participants can experience for themselves the potential of urban digital twins - i.e. virtual replicas of real cities - and how these can serve as fact-based, decision-making tools. To do this, we will be diving into the virtual world, visualizing data that is otherwise invisible and even taking a glimpse into the future. This workshop is aimed at interested members of the public of all ages, but also planners and decision-makers from municipalities.

Organized by: University of Stuttgart, High Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS). Please register via the HLRS website. There you will also find further information.
