For the third consecutive time, the University of Stuttgart ranks among the top three teams in the city. The result highlights that sustainable mobility and environmental awareness at the University of Stuttgart are not only strategic goals but are firmly embedded in everyday life.
By covering these distances in a climate-friendly way, approximately 13,500 kilograms of CO₂ equivalents were saved. This impressively demonstrates the contribution that cycling together can make to climate-friendly mobility.
Strong individual performance and committed teams
Óscar Herrera, visiting professor at the 5th Physical Institute, covered the highest number of kilometers. With nearly 2,500 kilometers, he took first place within the university team. The most successful team within the university was “FBM – Math in Motion,” which completed a total of 6,727 kilometers across 364 rides.
Momentum for sustainable mobility
“STADTRADELN combines climate action, exercise, and community,” says Felix Hebeler, head of the Staff Unit for Sustainability, Environmental, Climate and Occupational Protection (NUKLAS). “The campaign shows how much cycling can contribute to sustainable mobility and how important good cycling infrastructure is. At the same time, it is fun to collect kilometers together for the University of Stuttgart.”
