Exchange of ideas between administration, politics and civil society in the field of civic engagement

The master's degree program Planning and Participation at the University of Stuttgart, together with the State Ministry of Baden-Wuerttemberg and the Alliance for Participation, will be hosting the “Long Night of Participation” on 21 March.  The event provides a platform for the exchange of experiences. Part of the program will be a panel discussion with Gisela Erler, State Councilor for Civil Society and Civic Participation Baden-Wuerttemberg. About 200 guests from all over Germany will take part in the event.

The Long Night of Participation aims to promote an exchange of ideas and networking between administration, politics and civil society in the field of civic engagement. The event is being organized for the first time by 20 students of the University of Stuttgart, together with the State Ministry of Baden-Wuerttemberg and the Alliance for Participation. It enables people dedicated to a cause to present their projects in the field of civic participation and discuss them together with interested citizens. The projects are diverse and range from civic engagement regarding urban development as well as energy and climate protection, to social participation in the context of emergency assistance with housing, right up to the real experiment Parklets for Stuttgart and projects involving young people and senior citizens.
