Starting August 1, 2026, new regulations for parking management will take effect on the Vaihingen campus. This is based on a resolution passed by the state government in 2018. Parkraumgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg (PBW) will be responsible for managing the parking lots.
At a well-attended information session hosted by the university and PBW, the new regulations were presented and many open questions were addressed.
Registration for long-term and daily parking is now available
Discounted rates apply to state employees and students. To use these parking services, you must register on the mypbw.de customer portal using your university employee or student e-mail address. During the closure of the Stuttgart S-Bahn main line until September 12, 2026, students are eligible for an additional discounted daily maximum parking rate.
Since June 15, long-term parking permits, including permits valid for the winter semester beginning in October, have been available for booking through the portal. Registration for daily parking has also been available since July 1.

Free Parking with “Stuttgart Fährt Mit”
Over the past few weeks, the university has held extensive discussions with the PBW to advocate for the interests of its members. Together with all members of the campus community, the university will continue to improve mobility on campus under the new framework conditions.
Along with the introduction of the parking management system, the university is implementing measures to promote sustainable mobility. This includes, in particular, the carpooling program "Stuttgart fährt mit“: Carpool groups organized through the platform can park for free at the Vaihingen campus and at the Stadtmitte parking lot. In addition, all passengers receive a bonus of one euro per person per trip.

As usual, the administration will issue further bulletins informing employees about the implementation of the new procedures and addressing outstanding questions. First-year students will be informed via the regular communications of the Division of Students’ Affairs.
