Accreditation
Accreditation is a means of quality assurance of bachelor's and master's degree programs. The University of Stuttgart was reaccredited in 2019.

Childcare
Children of students are admitted to the day care centers and toddlers’ groups of the Studierendenwerk and STUPS e.V. from the age of six months. The Service University & Family provides comprehensive information about childcare.

The Commissioners for students with disabilities or chronic illnesses provides information, counseling and support for students and prospective students to realise their studies.

Deans of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies ensure that the courses offered meet all requirements of the study regulations and that the course can be completed within the standard period of study.

Each faculty of the University of Stuttgart has a Dean who represents the interests of the faculty.
Degree Program Managers
The Degree Program Managers are in charge of the quality assurance of the single degree programs. They ensure the implementation of examination regulations and module handbooks by coordinating the curricula of the different degree programs and maintain a regular flow of information within the department.
Deutschlandstipendium
The Deutschlandstipendium is a merit-based scholarship that supports the beneficiaries for one year.
Diploma Supplement
The Diploma Supplement is added to the Bachelor‘s and Master’s degree certificates to enhance the qualification profile.
Discrimination
In cases of discrimination, especially for reasons of racism or because of ethnic origin or religious and ideological identity, you can contact the contact person for anti-discrimination.
ECUS student ID card
The ECUS student ID card (Electronic Card University of Stuttgart) is your digital wallet, library card, key card and much more besides.
Emergency Medical Services
Hospitals, dental emergency services, and the poison emergency number provide help in case of an emergency in the evening, on weekends, or on public holidays.
Employment Agency Stuttgart - Academic Careers Team
The Academic Careers Team provides advice on questions concerning the choice of degree programs and possible alternative options, career entry, labor market, and training opportunities.

The Heads of the Examination Committee are the contact persons for legally binding information regarding examinations and academic achievements.
Extra curricular studies (Studium Generale)
The extra curricular studies (Studium Generale) coordinate interdisciplinary studies aimed at broadening students' horizons and nurturing their artistic interests.
Faculties and institutes
Your study program is assigned to a faculty. The teaching staff / lecturers may come from various institutes and departments.

The Gender Equality Office is committed to the actual enforcement of equal rights for women and men, and provides advice and information for students and university staff with family responsibilities as well as funding opportunities for female students and junior academics.

The Graduate Academy of the University of Stuttgart (GRADUS) is the central institution at the University of Stuttgart for the promotion of early career researchers and offers a wide range of qualification, information, counseling, mentoring, scientific, and administrative services.
Housing
Students can apply for accommodation in a student residence (located close to the campuses).
ILIAS
ILIAS provides students with a centralized access to most of the learning materials required for their studies.

Modules and module handbook
A module is a coherent teaching unit consisting of one or more individual courses that are harmonized in regard to subject matter and timetable.

Standard period of study
The standard period of study indicates the number of semesters in which the degree of your study program can be completed. It is laid down in the exam regulations of your study program.
STEM Orientation Semester
One-semester program in the summer semester for undecided prospective students who are interested in mathematics, computer science, science or engineering.

The student representations of the single degree programs are administered by the students themselves. They advise students and prospective students and provide information on the degree program, taking up studies, and useful tips on all aspects of study.

SWS – semester hour
SWS is the German abbreviation for "semester hour" and indicates the number of 45-minute periods that a course comprises per week during the lecture period of a semester.
Technology Transfer Initiative GmbH (TTI) at the University of Stuttgart
The TTI GmbH provides information on company establishment, e.g. the design of a business plan, access to federal or state funds, use of university resources as well as the establishment of a transfer and founding company under the aegis of the TTI.
